Is it safe to post mail during Covid-19?

We can all agree that mail delivery services have gone above and beyond during the Covid-19 outbreak.   Protocols have quickly been put into place to protect both customers and staff.   
Postmen are working hard around the UK to ensure we receive our mail.  Hand held devices aren't being used to secure signatures for signed for packages. Instead the postman is leaving the package, knocking, stepping back to wait for the door to be answered before taking a name.
