The London 2020 International, organised by Stamp World Exhibitions Limited, has been postponed from May 2020 to February 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic
The success of the London 2020 International affects all aspects of this great hobby, from traders to exhibitors as well as suppliers, collectors and hobbyists, and nationwide stamp show visitors. The Philatelic Traders' Society (The PTS), who represent over 300 stamp dealers, auction houses, philatelic specialists and service providers, has been working closely with the London 2020 team to do what it can to help provide possible postponement solutions and recommendations, rather than have the organisers cancel the International all together. A decision was been made by The PTS Council to release the Spring Stampex 2022 booking to allow the London 2022 team to take this slot should they decide that this was the best scenario based on their many other discussions with other key stakeholders. The PTS are proud to be able to offer this solution, to help support the hobby and our members. The PTS want to be clear that releasing this Spring 2022 slot is not an indication of a move towards a 'one Stampex a year' strategy. It is an exceptional scenario in this most unprecedented time. In 2021, we have committed to running two shows. Our next Stampex show runs from 30th September to the 3rd October 2020 at the Business Design Centre in London, and we hope to see many of you there.
Frank Walton, Chairman of London2020 comments
“Since announcing the date change yesterday afternoon we have had positive feedback from all over the world. Collectors, commissioners, dealers and philatelic bodies have all shared with me their enthusiasm and excitement that the event has been able to be moved to another date. We are delighted with the teamwork between The PTS and London 2020 and pleased that the show will go on”
